The WIAA Division 2 girls state soccer tournament will kick off Thursday, June 16, at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.

Here are four players to watch at the tournament:

Zoey Pagels, Oregon (Sr.)

The UW-Green Bay commit has put together a masterful senior season with 24 goals and 17 assists.

Pagels is second on the Panthers in goals, only behind sophomore forward Katelyn Studebaker’s 25. Pagels’ 17 assists is a team-best this season.

Lucia Englund, Whitefish Bay (Jr.)

Englund headed into sectionals with 26 goals on the season, a team-best. The Blue Duke forward also had nine assists coming out of regionals – second best on the team.

Englund scored a hat trick in Whitefish Bay’s regional final win over Greendale. She has four hat tricks on the season.

Katelyn Fishnick, Sauk Prairie (Sr.)

Fishnick came into sectionals with 20 goals on the season, to go along with 10 assists. She had a five-goal performance during Sauk Prairie’s season-opener. Fishnick also has a hat trick under her belt this season.

Mary Stroebel, Cedarburg (So.)

There is no player in the Division 2 tournament who has shouldered the load more than Cedarburg sophomore Mary Stroebel.

Stroebel entered sectional play with 30 goals on the season – 22 more than teammate Courtney Van Ermen – who was second on the team in goals with eight.

Stroebel entered sectionals with seven assists on the season, second-best for the Bulldogs.

Stroebel scored goals in 18 of her first 19 games.
