The Oregon boys soccer team defeated Baraboo 3-0 in the Badger West Conference title game on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Baraboo High School.
The Panthers capped off an undefeated regular season with a 4-2 victory over Cedarburg in a nonconference regular-season finale on Thursday, Oct. 14, at Cedarburg High School.
Oregon finishes the regular season with a 17-0-2 record.
Oregon 3, Baraboo 0
With the win, the Panthers end their conference schedule unbeaten at 7-0-1. Baraboo finished second in the conference standings with a 5-2-1 mark, with the Thunderbirds’ only two losses coming to Oregon.
Senior Alex Rodriguez got the Panthers on the board in the 10th minute, scoring off an assist from junior Noah Malcook.
Mason Diercks netted two goals in the second half.
Diercks scored on a free kick a minute into the second in the 41st. In the 63rd, Diercks scored again to make it 3-0.
Oregon 4, Cedarburg 2
Eli Lehmann scored two first-half goals for the Panthers. Lehmann scored in the second and fourth minutes to give Oregon an early 2-0 lead. Cedarburg went on to respond with a pair of scores in the sixth and 26th minutes to deadlock the game at 2-2 at halftime.
Rodriguez and Kellen Diercks both scored once after the break. Diercks found the back of the net in the 71st, while Rodriguez scored in the 77th. Rodriguez, Kellen Diercks, Christian Wirtz and Malcook all recorded assists in the victory.
Oregon, ranked No. 2 in the Division 2 Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association state poll, will host 16th-seeded Racine Park in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Huntoon Field in Oregon.
