The Village of Oregon Police Department partnered with Shop With A Cop–Dane County to help children from the community pick out gifts for their families and friends on Sunday, Dec. 4.
School Resource Officer Kyle Schewe, Officer Nydia Navarro, Officer Jordan Coulson and Officer Cassidy Ruchti all participated in the event. After working together to shop, the officers then assisted the children in wrapping and delivering the presents to their intended recipients.
“Thank you to all that have donated to Shop with a Cop to help make this happen,” the Oregon Police Department said in a post on their Facebook page.

Shop With A Cop–Dane County is a nonprofit organization based in Madison that aims to facilitate positive interactions between law enforcement agencies and the community. They do so by collecting donations to help “economically disadvantaged children shop for gifts for their families during the season.” A number of other agencies across Dane County participated alongside the Oregon Police Department, including those in Madison, Fitchburg, Middleton, Waunakee and more.
