Sara Kissling, a business teacher at Oregon High School, received the 2023 Accounting Educator Award from the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA) at this year’s Member Recognition Banquet & Annual Business Meeting on Friday, May 5.
The Accounting Educator Award recognizes an accounting or business educator for their contributions in academia and the accounting profession. The recipient has demonstrated innovative techniques in teaching and motivating students. Kissling is one of nine 2023 WICPA Excellence Award recipients.
“Every educator enters the profession believing they can (and hopefully will) make a difference,” Kissling said. “Receiving the WICPA Excellence Award is recognition for succeeding in making a difference. All my former students who have gone on to earn the CPA credential have done so because of their hard work and dedication.
“I hope my passion sparked their interest in the accounting field, and I hope they know the difference they have made in my life as an educator.”
