Youth Helping Youth 5K (One)

The Oregon Area Special Olympics and Friends of Oregon will each receive 50% of proceeds raised by the 5K.

Brooklyn Mighty Mites and Oregon Headliners participated in a youth 5K walk/run. It took place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 15, at Legion Park in Brooklyn. Participants enjoyed walking and running around Brooklyn. We ended the event with some fresh fruit, snacks and water.

Thank you to our local sponsors: Marshall Farms, Klondike Farms, and Klitzman Seed, LLC. that provided shirts as well Cindy Jazdzewski provided water and snacks for the participants.

There were 17 4-H youth between Oregon Headliners and Brooklyn Mighty Mites 4-H clubs; in total we had 34 participants complete the walk/run. Next year, it will be open to the public and other youth organizations will be chosen.

Oregon Area Special Olympics and Friends of Oregon will each receive 50% of the pledges and 50% of the remaining sponsor money.
